How it works

Two ways in.
One way of working.

Which way you take depends on what needs cleaning: some work has its price on the site, and some is different in every home, so it is priced for you in writing. Either way, nothing is booked before you have seen the figure.

In Mallorca

  1. Choose your area and the piece

Say where you are, then what needs cleaning, then pick the piece itself from a short list.

  2. See the price

Your price appears as soon as you have said what needs cleaning and where, before we ask for a single personal detail.

  3. Pick a date and an arrival window

Any day from tomorrow up to 60 days ahead. The windows you are offered come from the diary for your area.

  4. Your reference appears on screen

Add your name, the address and a way to reach you. The moment the slot is held, your booking reference is on the screen.

You’ll need
Your area and the piece, a date and an arrival window, then your name, a phone number, an e-mail address and the address we are coming to.
You get
The price comes first. A reference the moment you book.

Written quote

In Mallorca

  1. Send a short request

Say what needs cleaning, roughly how much of it, and where. Rough numbers are fine.

  2. We read it ourselves

Every request is read by one of us, and the price is worked out for your job.

  3. One written price

One price for the whole job, in writing. If part of the job cannot be done, the quote says which part.

  4. You say yes, then we fix a date

Nothing is booked until you agree to the price. When you do, we arrange the visit with you.

You’ll need
For pressure washing, the rough size of the area in square metres. And always your name, your postcode or town, and the e-mail address the price should go to.
You get
One written price for the whole job, a plain word on what will lighten rather than vanish, and nothing booked until you say yes.

On the day

The visit,
step by step.

Whichever way you came in, the visit runs in the same order. We look first, we say what is realistic, and only then do we start.

  1. We look first

Fabric is inspected and tested for colour-fastness on an area nobody sees. Outdoors we check the surface: what it is made of, how it is jointed, where the water will run.

  2. We tell you what to expect

Set-in dye, ink and burns can be permanent. Glass etched by hard water comes up clean but not flawless. Loose pointing can come away under pressure. You hear it before we start, not after.

  3. Then we do the work

Stains are pre-treated, then every upholstered surface is cleaned by hot-water extraction, seat by seat. Glass is washed and dried, frames and sills wiped down. Stone is washed at a pressure the surface can take, with edges and steps worked by hand.

  4. You know what happens next

Pads go under wooden feet while a sofa dries, and before we leave you get the drying time for what we cleaned. Outdoors, in warm weather, most surfaces are usable again within a few hours.

Questions

Fair
questions.

The ones people ask before letting someone new through the door. If yours is not here, write to us.

Ask us something else

How and when do I pay?

You pay in advance, when you book, by card online on your booking page. A card payment is made through our payment provider, Stripe: you type your card details into Stripe’s own secure form, and Melt never sees them. A visit priced as an estimate is paid once the final price has been agreed at the visit. Anything these terms give back — after a withdrawal or a cancellation — is returned the same way you paid. The booking terms have the details.

Can I change or cancel?

Cancelling is free of charge until your arrival window opens. You can move the visit online free of charge up to 24 hours before the arrival window; after that, write to us to move it. The booking terms have the details.

How do I know the booking went through?

Your booking reference appears on screen as soon as the slot is held, so there is never a doubt about whether it went through. It begins with the code for your area: MELT-ES for Mallorca.

How far ahead can I book?

From tomorrow up to 60 days ahead. The arrival windows on offer are the ones still free in the diary for your area; a window that is full cannot be picked.

Will every stain come out?

No, and we say so before we start. Most food, drink and everyday stains respond well, and treating them is part of the clean. Set-in dye, ink, bleach marks and burns can be permanent. The technician tests first and tells you what is realistic for your sofa.

How long until I can use it again?

Sofas: 4–6 hours. Mattresses: 3–5 hours. Rugs: 4–8 hours. Fitted carpet: 2–4 hours to walkable. That is with normal ventilation, and you are told the time for your piece before we leave.

Why is pressure washing a written quote and not a price list?

Because no two outdoor jobs are alike: the price depends on the area and on what the surface is made of. Enter the rough size and your postcode on the quote page and you see an estimate at once; the price in writing follows, and nothing is booked until you say yes.

Do I need to be at home for window cleaning?

For inside work, yes — someone has to let the team in. Outside-only visits can often be done while you are out, as long as gates and terraces are open. Say so when you book or ask, and we confirm it in writing.
