Questions about a cleaning visit in Mallorca

Questions
Before the visit
How do I find out the price?
Where a price list can show the price, it is on the site: pick what needs cleaning, see the figure, then decide. Where a job differs too much from home to home for a price list, you get one written quote instead.
Is there a minimum price for a visit?
Yes. Each service has a minimum visit, and a smaller booking is topped up to it: Window cleaning €49, pressure washing €149, gutter cleaning €119, sofa & upholstery cleaning €119, mattress cleaning €119, rug cleaning €119, carpet cleaning €119 and stain treatment €119.
Which services have a drive charge?
The drive from Felanitx is in the price: the first 20 km are free, then €0.70 a km, one way. You give the postcode where the job is (five digits) and see the total before you book. The drive is charged on window cleaning, pressure washing and gutter cleaning. Other services carry no separate drive charge.
Is IVA included?
Every price includes IVA (21%), the Spanish VAT.
When and how do I pay?
You pay in advance, when you book, by card online on your booking page. A card payment is made through our payment provider, Stripe: you type your card details into Stripe’s own secure form, and Melt never sees them. A visit priced as an estimate is paid once the final price has been agreed at the visit. Anything these terms give back (after a withdrawal or a cancellation) is returned the same way you paid.
Can I choose when you come?
Choose a date and an arrival window from the real diary for your area, not “sometime between eight and six”.
Which languages can I book in?
The booking pages are in English, Spanish and German.
Questions
During the visit
Window cleaning
How is window cleaning priced?
Not by the hour. The price comes from how many windows and glass doors you have and what size each one is. The drive to your address may add a charge, and you see the whole price before anything is booked.
Do I need to be at home?
Not necessarily: someone can let us in for you, or you can leave a key. Tell us how we get to the windows (keys, gates, terraces) when you book or ask, and we confirm it in writing.
How often should windows be cleaned?
Near the coast, every one to three months stops salt building up. Inland, two to four times a year suits most homes. A single one-off clean is fine too.
What if there are more windows than I booked?
If the job turns out bigger than you described, we tell you before we start and you pay only the difference.
Pressure washing
How is pressure washing priced?
By area and surface. The rough size in square metres, what the surface is made of, your postcode and how long since it was last cleaned are enough for a written quote. Before you ask, the area and your postcode already give you an estimate on screen; the written quote that follows is the price.
Can pressure washing damage my terrace?
Used carelessly, yes: pressure can mark soft stone, lift paint and blow out old joints. That is why the surface is checked first and the pressure matched to it. Where a surface will not take it, we say so instead of trying.
Do you clean around swimming pools?
Yes. Coping and paving around the pool are cleaned with the run-off directed away from the water as far as the layout allows.
Gutter cleaning
How is gutter cleaning priced?
By the size of the house, not by the hour: each size has its own fixed price and says how much gutter it covers. The drive to your address may add a charge, and you see the whole price before anything is booked.
Do I need to be at home?
Not necessarily: we usually reach the gutters from round the house. Someone can let us in for you, or you can leave the gate open. Tell us in the notes when you book how we get round the house: gates, dogs, a locked garden.
How often should gutters be cleaned?
Once a year suits most houses, in September or October, before the autumn rain and its storms. A house under pine trees is better done twice a year, in spring as well.
What if there is more gutter than my size covers?
We look at the gutters before we start. If there is more than your size covers, we tell you then, before any work begins, and you pay only the difference: it is added to your booking, and your booking page shows it with the button to pay.
Sofa & upholstery cleaning
How long does sofa cleaning take?
A standard 3-seat sofa takes 45 to 75 minutes of work. It then needs 4 to 6 hours to dry with normal ventilation, and protective pads stay under wooden feet while it does. Before leaving, the technician tells you the drying time for your sofa.
Do you clean leather sofas?
Yes. Leather is not cleaned by hot-water extraction; it gets a dedicated clean-and-condition treatment instead. The conditioning is part of cleaning leather, so it is included in the price and is not an extra. As with fabric, the technician tests an inconspicuous area first.
Will every stain come out?
No, and we say so before we start. Most food, drink and everyday stains respond well, and treating them is part of the clean. Set-in dye, ink, bleach marks and burns can be permanent. The technician tests first and tells you what is realistic for your sofa.
Mattress cleaning
Can I sleep on the mattress the same night?
Yes. Cleaned in the morning or early afternoon, a mattress is dry by bedtime with normal ventilation.
Does it help with allergies?
We cannot promise that. Hot-water extraction lifts dust and dust-mite debris out of the sleeping surface, but it is a deep clean, not a medical treatment.
Rug cleaning
Do you clean wool rugs?
Yes. Wool is cleaned with controlled moisture and wool-safe products, then dried flat to protect the backing.
Carpet cleaning
Do I need to move furniture first?
Clear small items if you can. The technician moves what is practical and cleans around the rest with protective pads.
Stain treatment
Red wine on a cream sofa: gone or not?
Fresh (within days): usually yes. Months old and previously scrubbed with shop products: partially. The technician tells you the honest likelihood before starting.
Questions
After the visit
How long does it take to dry?
- Sofa & upholstery cleaning: 4 to 6 hours
- Mattress cleaning: 3 to 5 hours
- Rug cleaning: 4 to 8 hours
- Carpet cleaning: 2 to 4 hours (to walk on)
What if it rains after a window clean?
A shower the next day rarely spoils the result: it is the dirt already on glass that rain turns into marks.
Can I change or cancel a booking?
Cancelling is free of charge until your arrival window opens. You can move the visit online free of charge up to 24 hours before the arrival window; after that, write to us to move it.
What if I am not happy with the work?
Tell us what is wrong: we answer every complaint within 15 days. You have the right to an official complaint form (hoja de reclamación / full de reclamació), free of charge. Ask us for one and we will send it to you.
