The dirt depends on which Palma you live in. On the Passeig Marítim and in El Molinar, salt settles on glass and balcony rails. A few streets inland it is mostly traffic film. When AEMET forecasts dust from North Africa, it is worth waiting for the episode to pass: a clean booked just after it lasts longer than one booked just before.
Good to know
Getting to you is the part worth telling us about. Much of the old centre sits inside ACIRE zones, where only residents and authorised vehicles may drive, and the centre has also been a low-emission zone since January 2025. If you live inside one, put it in the booking note, along with the nearest place we can legally stop.
Parking is changing too. The city is extending its blue ORA bays to Foners, Pere Garau, Son Oliva, Camp Redó and parts of Bons Aires, so a street that is free today may not stay free.
Upper floors without a lift are normal here. Say which floor you are on, and whether your inward-opening windows can be reached from indoors. Palma stopped adding new holiday-rental places in February 2026, so the flats still let to visitors tend to run on tight changeovers: give us the gap between guests when you book.
