The three ways, and what each one does to you
| Method | What is good about it | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| By the hour | Simple, and fair for an odd job | You carry the risk. You do not know the bill until the work is done |
| By the square metre | Tracks the amount of glass | Somebody has to measure, and a small awkward pane takes longer than its area suggests |
| By the window, by size | You can count them yourself and know the bill in advance | The sizes are bands, so a window on the line can land either side |
For scale, Habitissimo’s price guide for the whole of Spain, updated on 15 September 2026, gives €12 to €20 an hour or €4 to €10 per square metre, an average job of about €110, with most between €75 and €150.1 It has no separate figure for the Balearics and does not say whether IVA is included, so treat it as background rather than as a local going rate.1
Why you rarely see a price here
This is our own check, not a published study: in September 2026 we looked at the websites of fifteen cleaning firms on the island, and not one published a price. Every one sent the visitor to a form, a phone number or WhatsApp. That is not sinister. Island jobs really do vary, from a sea-front flat to a finca with shutters on every window. But it does mean that you cannot compare without asking several people and waiting. Publishing a list is the reason we exist in the form we do, not a discount: we are not the cheapest on the island and we are not trying to be.
What Melt charges, from the live price list
These are the rows the booking charges from, so they cannot differ from what you are asked to pay. If we change a price, this page changes with it.
| Size | Price |
|---|---|
| Small windowBathroom, WC, kitchen hatch · up to about 60 × 60 cm | €7 |
| Medium windowMost bedroom and living-room windows · up to about 120 × 120 cm | €10 |
| Large windowBig casements and French windows · up to about 180 × 150 cm | €15 |
| Extra large windowSliding and patio doors, picture windows · wider than about 180 cm | €24 |
Minimum visit €49: a smaller job is topped up to it.
Sliding and patio doors count as extra large. If you are not sure which band a window falls into, the full price guide has the definitions the booking itself uses.
The drive
We drive from Felanitx. The first 20 km are free, and each kilometre after that adds €0.70, which is why the same house costs slightly more in Port d’Andratx than in Cala d’Or. That is not a surcharge hidden in a total: it is a separate line on the price, and the place list shows what it comes to for every town we drive to.
Real totals
These are worked with the booking’s own arithmetic for real postcodes, so you would get the same figure if you entered the same windows.

To estimate your own, walk round the house once with a notepad and count each size. It takes about as long as making a coffee, and the answer is yours whether you book or not.
What can change the price
- How many windows you counted, and which sizes. If the job turns out bigger than you described, we tell you before we start and you pay only the difference.
- The questions the booking asks. Where it asks about height, access or which sides, your answer moves the price in front of you, before you commit to anything.
- The minimum. A visit is never below €49, because a van and a person have to come whatever the number of windows.
What we leave out is as important: windows that cannot be reached safely are left out of the job and of its price, and we say which. Paint, cement or sealant from building work is not a window clean. Glass makers give it instructions of its own, because cement left on glass etches it,23 so ask us first.
How to compare us fairly
Ask every firm the same questions. A lower figure with a different answer to any of them is not a lower price. Here they are, with our answers.
- Does the price include IVA? Every price includes IVA (21%), the Spanish VAT.
- Is the drive included? The first 20 km are free, and the rest is a separate line on the price you see before you book.
- What if the job takes longer than expected? We price by the window, not by the hour, so the clock is not on your bill.
Hourly work can well turn out cheaper than ours, especially for a small, easy house, and we would rather you knew. You can then look at every price in one place and decide.
